What are Zero Waste products?
Zero Waste products are goods and items designed and produced with the goal of reducing the amount of waste they generate. Sometimes, there are leftover pieces of fabric during our production process. We use these fabrics to create our Zero Waste products, such as scrunchies and tote bags. These fabrics are made sustainably with a focus on durability. Curious about how and what materials we use for our fabrics? Read our extensive durability page where we explain all our choices.
What are our Zero Waste products made from?
Our Zero Waste products are made from our leftover fabrics. These leftover fabrics come from yoga mats, stability balls, play mats, and poufs. Our Zero Waste products are very stylish and follow current trends. This is naturally because our other products are also very stylish. Take, for example, our modern Velour poufs, which fit perfectly with your interior decor. The bestsellers among these poufs are the Bouclé Teddy Pouf and the Mother Earth Pouf. We currently still have Zero Waste products in the collection of the Mother Earth Pouf, namely the Scrunchies made from Mother Earth fabric. The Bouclé Teddy Pouf pairs well with the Bouclé Teddy sitting ball, which comes in various sizes. We have 45 cm stability balls for children, 55 cm stability balls, 65 cm stability balls (these are the most ordered), and even 75 cm stability balls. So, be sure to take a look here as well.
Additionally, we have tote bags, lavender eye pillows, makeup bags, and headbands in the Zero Waste collection.
Tote Bags as Zero Waste products.
Tote bags are super convenient and stylish; you can use them for anything. Currently, we only have 3 different prints. The Fancy Fan Tote Bag, made from the Fancy Fan yoga mat and Fancy Fan Pouf. Then there's the Wild Pink Jungle Tote Bag made from the Wild Pink Jungle play mat. Furthermore, the headbands are made from the Oatmeal Latte Yoga ball and the Oatmeal Latte Velour Pouf. As mentioned earlier, the scrunchies are made from Mother Earth fabric. Tote bags are not the only bags we have; we also have makeup bags. We have the pink makeup bag and the beige makeup bag.
Lavender Eye Pillows as Zero Waste products.
These pillows are perfect for meditation or relaxation. The covers of these pillows are also made from leftover fabrics. Personally, I find the Hunker Down Eye Pillow the most appealing. We also have a Hunker Down Yoga mat. Looking for a modern meditation set? Then a Hunker Down yoga mat and Hunker Down eye pillow are the perfect combination!
Do Zero Waste products have an impact on the environment?
Zero Waste products have a positive impact on the environment in several ways:
Waste reduction: By using leftover fabrics instead of new ones, the amount of waste that needs to be incinerated is reduced. This, in turn, reduces the greenhouse gas emissions associated with waste processing.
Sustainable consumption: The more people purchase Zero Waste products, the more popular they become. This makes people more aware of what they buy and more likely to invest in products that last longer.
Protection of ecosystems: Less waste means less pollution of ecosystems such as rivers, oceans, and forests. This contributes to preserving biodiversity and protecting natural areas.
Education and awareness: Using Zero Waste products contributes to greater awareness of environmental issues and the impact of human consumption on the environment. This leads to increased engagement in environmentally friendly practices.
Making Zero Waste products yourself?
Did you know that you can also make Zero Waste products yourself? This is very easy, especially if you have a lot of old clothes that you no longer wear. And being a little good at sewing helps a lot ;-).
For example:
You can cut up an old towel into pieces and turn it into kitchen towels or dishcloths.
If you have an old shirt, look up a tutorial on how to turn it into a tote bag. This is quite easy to do.
Do you have an old pair of jeans you no longer wear? Try sprucing it up. You can easily do this with some studs and fabric glue. You can also turn it into an entirely new pair of pants by cutting off the legs and making them into fresh summer shorts!
Did you know that you can also make skirts from pants? Search on YouTube for "Making a skirt from old pants" and you'll find plenty of tutorials on how to do this easily.
And the easiest tip of all: Dye your old shirt in a new color. Add dye to a warm bucket of water, dip your shirt in, check after a while if your shirt has the desired color, let it dry, and run it through the washing machine. Voila, you have a brand new shirt!
There are many more ways to make Zero Waste products. Be creative, anything is possible!
