Six ways to play: let your imagination run wild
A little role play is okay
Playing is a child’s way of engaging and making sense of the world. As kids grow up they will always want to act out certain experiences because it helps them understand how to behave in certain situations, whilst also learning more about social roles. Then they can start to understand how they fit into this world.
I spy with my little eye..
ByAlex Playmats are great for tea parties, race tracks or animal farms. Could it be a stepping stone over a pool filled with crocodiles? Or what about a horse or elephant if the mats are rolled up? Or what about a fort to hide in?
The possibilities are endless.
Imagination is a gift that keeps on giving
My memories of Simon using a cushion as a police motorcycle and Hella feeding her monkey with a little spoon (we didn't have a lot of dolls at the time with two boys in the house before she was born) are extremely vivid. As a creative person, I absolutely adore watching my kids use their imagination. They each have their own happy place, and they're all so different. Allowing children to use their imagination helps them process their emotions and learn about the world around them. Here are some tips to help encourage them use their imagination.
What's your favourite thing to do on the playmat?
ByAlex Playmats are perfect for playing, chilling, reading and jumping around together, at any age. Create the perfect playroom and reading nook for your kids by adding a handmade ByAlex playmat. You can use one by itself, or you can create the most amazing play area by laying several playmats together. Combine them with our cosy cushions for a comfortable space to play games and chill.
